Log a session on a goal

Record opportunities, prompt level, response, and response method.

4 min read

Open the goal

  1. 1Open the student, then the goal you are collecting on.
  2. 2Use the Log session card — or the floating quick-log button from anywhere in the app.
  3. 3Set the date. It defaults to today.
  4. 4Choose the number of opportunities, then fill in the table row by row.

What each column means

Prompt level records how much support the student needed for that opportunity — independent through full physical.

Response records whether the target behavior occurred.

Response method records how the student responded (verbal, gesture, AAC device, written, and so on).

The percentage is automatic

You do not type a score. The percentage is computed from the opportunities you record, so two people logging the same session always produce comparable data.

Prefer pencil and paper?

Open the student and choose Weekly data sheet from the IEP Tools menu. You can print a blank template or one pre-filled with each active goal, Monday through Friday.
